Andrew Edward “Andy” Grobe, 39, of Pittsburgh, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2025, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. He was born Nov. 6, 1985, in Latrobe to Jane F. (Skirtich) Grobe and the late J. Daniel Grobe. Andy was a Catholic by faith and worked as a Deputy Director for Allegheny County Parks. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Edward J. Skirtich; and his paternal grandmother, Ruth (Robbins) Grobe. Andy is survived by his beloved wife, Ashley (Dzurnak) Grobe; their cherished children, Camilla Jane (age 2 ½) and John Henry (2 months); his mother, Jane F. Grobe; his maternal grandmother, Dorothy F. Skirtich; four siblings, William Grobe, of Latrobe, Jennifer (Chris) Morgan, of Hampton Township, Elizabeth (Randy) Stas, of Latrobe, Matthew (Mindy) Grobe, of Bozeman, MT; and several nieces and nephews, Daniel and Grace Morgan, Joseph Stas, and Madison and Macy Grobe. Andy is also survived by his father and mother-in-law, Richard and Jackelin Dzurnak; a brother-in-law Alex of Arizona; many loving uncles, aunts, cousins, and a very special group of lifelong friends. Andy was a graduate of Greater Latrobe High School and Lock Haven University. He and Ashley enjoyed many outdoor adventures, loved hiking the national parks together, traveling, and spending time with friends. Andy, along with his dad and brothers, was an avid fly fisherman, and they spent countless hours fishing across the country. His greatest joy, however, was his time spent with his beautiful children. Andy's ever-present smile and good nature will be sadly missed by so many that loved him. He was truly the best of us. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, Feb. 15, 2025, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Whitney, at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. James F. Podlesny, O.S.B. as celebrant.
