Angeline M. "Angie" (Scardina) Smith, 84, of Latrobe (Unity Twp.), passed away Thursday, Oct. 12, 2023, at Independence Health System - Latrobe Hospital. She was born Nov. 8, 1938, in Scottdale, PA to the late Vincenzo James and May (Comforti) Scardina. She was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady of Grace Church, Greensburg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 1/2 years, Larry W. “Buck” Smith, an infant brother; five brothers and sister-in-laws, Marion (Antoinette) Scardina, Frank (Charolet) Scardina, Sam (Marian) Scardina, Dom (Janet) Scardina and Anthony (Kaye) Scardina; as well as several nieces and nephews. She is survived by two sons, Roger W. Smith (Lisa El Harem) of Acme and Martin Smith (Terri Hauser) of Latrobe; one grandson, Collin Smith of Latrobe; as well as many nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2023, at the FREDERICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe, PA 15650. Additional visitation will take place on Thursday, Oct. 19, 2023, in Our Lady of Grace Church from 9 to 10 a.m. with a funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. with Fr. Levi M. Mantica as celebrant. Everyone is asked to go directly to the church Thursday morning. Entombment will be at Greensburg Catholic Cemetery, Greensburg. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations in Angie’s name be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105 or Our Lady of Grace Church, 1011 Mt Pleasant Rd, Greensburg, PA 15601.
