Ann Semanchek Kostley, 94, of Latrobe, died Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2011, in Excela Health Latrobe Hospital. She was born Feb. 7, 1917, in Mingo Junction, Ohio, a daughter of the late John Semanchek and Mary (Vargo) Semanchek. She was a homemaker and a member of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Holy Family Choir, Holy Family Rosary Society and Catholic Daughters of the Americas. She was an excellent cook and well-known for Nanny's homemade bread. She loved God, family and friends in that order and will be sadly missed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph S. Kostley, in 1994; a brother, John W. Semanchek Jr.; and a sister, Mary Pagliasotti. She is survived by her three sons, Regis J. Kostley and his wife, Jean, of Virginia Beach, Va., Gerald J. Kostley and his wife, Marty, of Pleasant Unity, and Dennis J. Kostley and his wife, Deborah, of Monroeville; three sisters, Helen (George) Hvizdos, of Latrobe, Josephine (Jack) King, of California, and Evelyn (John) Miscovich, of Latrobe; six grandchildren, David (Valerie), Kevin (Becky), Nicole (Danny), Brooke (Randy), Joani (Dan) and Lauren (fiance, Jordan); as well as 13 great-grandchildren, Gabrielle, Garrett, Grace, Gage, Kasen, Logan, Ashlyn, Connor, Kendall, Noah, Rylie, Ryder and Rowan. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday in FREDERICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe. A funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday in Holy Family Roman Catholic Church with the Very Rev. Daniel C. Mahoney, VF, pastor, as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Latrobe. The Holy Family Rosary Society will recite the Rosary at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
