Anna M. Koch, 98, of Latrobe, died Sunday, Sept. 21, 2008, in Mountain View Specialty Care Center, Unity Township. Born Feb. 1, 1910, in Latrobe, she was a daughter of the late Michael Zappone and Elizabeth Faniculla Zappone Falso. She was a member of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church. She enjoyed baby-sitting numerous children over the years and served as a Girl Scout leader for many years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Pasquale Falso; her husband, William H. Koch, in 1956; a son, William Koch Jr., in 1949; and sisters and brothers, Carmel Danko, Florence Joyner, Charles Zappone, A.J. "Jeff" Zappone and Marie Iafornaro. She is survived by a brother, John Zappone and his wife, Marian, of Seattle, Wash.; three sisters, Mrs. Marguerite Bigley, Eleanor Falso and Mrs. Pauline Stemmler, all of Latrobe; as well as many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the FREDERICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Latrobe. Interment in St. Vincent Cemetery, Latrobe.
