Betty I. Hayden Ruby, 88, of Latrobe passed away Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012, in Excela Health Latrobe Hospital. Born Nov. 22, 1923, in Peanut (Derry Township), she was a daughter of the late Peter and Elizabeth (Dando) Hayden. Prior to her retirement, she was a cook for the Mozart House. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul H. Ruby, (died Oct. 27, 1983); brother, Joseph Hayden, and two sisters Mildred Kenney and Dorothy Elizabeth Schall. She is survived by her daughter, Betty Ann Dowling and her husband, Skip, of Latrobe; son Paul E. Ruby; three grandchildren, Lisa C. Keefe and her husband, John, Albert "Skip" Dowling and his wife, Kim, and Kathleen Snyder and her husband, Harry, of Latrobe, and five great-grandchildren, John Ryan Keefe, James Michael Keefe, Devin Patrick Dowling, Dalis John Dowling and Kayleigh Kathleen Snyder. Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10, in Frederick Funeral Home Inc., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe. A funeral service will be held Saturday, Aug. 11, in the funeral home at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in St. Mary Byzantine Cemetery, Bradenville.
