Bettyrose V. Kane, 79, of New Alexandria, died Monday, Sept. 29, 2008, at home. She was born Aug. 23, 1929, in McVeytown, daughter of the late William and Dora Vaughn Mort. She was a homemaker and a member of United Methodist Church, New Alexandria. Bettyrose was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, known as Grandma or Toot, and was very devoted to family and friends. She loved bowling, golfing, camping and traveling. She was also known for her quick wit and fun-loving nature. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by five brothers and sisters. She is survived by her husband, Carl O. Kane; five children, Connie Kane and her husband, Bill Callan, of Richmond, Va., Virgie Potter and her husband, Don, of New Alexandria, C. Richard Kane and his wife, Susie, of York, Karen Kane and her partner, Lou Thwaits, of Niles, Mich., and Glenna Stynchula and her husband, Fred, of New Alexandria; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, Donnie Mort, of Lewistown; and her faithful dog, Millie. There will be no public visitation. All services for Bettyrose will be private. Burial will be in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Greensburg. Arrangements by FREDERICK FUENRAL HOME INC., Latrobe.
