Carl O. Kane, 89, of New Alexandria, died December 14, 2013 at home. He was born in Newton Hamilton, PA, to the late Mayward and Lanta Kane. Carl served his country while in the Army during World War II. He was the devoted husband of the late Bettyrose V. Kane for 62 years and a loving father of five children. He loved his family, bowling, golfing and camping. Carl was known for his pleasant personality and his love of watching sports on television. He is survived by his five children, Connie Kane Callan and her husband Bill Callan, of Richmond, VA, Virgie Potter and her husband Don of New Alexandria, C. Richard Kane and his wife, Susie, of York, Karen Kane and her partner, Lou Thwaits, of Niles, MI, and Glenna Kane of Latrobe; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Brubaker of McVeytown; and his best companion dog, Millie. There will be no public visitation. All services for Carl will be private. Internment will be with Bettyrose in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Greensburg. Arrangements by Frederick Funeral Home Inc., Latrobe.
