Carole A. Pickels

Carole A. (Shestik) Pickels, 70, of Latrobe, died Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at The Rehabilitation and Nursing Center at Greater Pittsburgh, Greensburg. She was born Aug. 31, 1943, in Latrobe, daughter of the late Robert E. Shestik and Madge O'Shea Shestik. She was a retired pharmacy technician for Eckerd Drug. She was a member of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church and Holy Family Rosary Society. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert L. Shestik; and a sister-in-law, Myla E. Shestik. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, C. Edward Pickels; two children, Kevin Pickels and his wife, Angelica, of Wexford, and Jennifer Pickels, of Pittsburgh; four grandchildren, Matthew, Elizabeth, Benjamin and Jackson. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 13, 2014, at FREDERICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe, PA 15650. A funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday, July 14, 2014, in Holy Family Roman Catholic Church with the Very Rev. Daniel C. Mahoney, VF. The Holy Family Rosary Society will recite the Rosary at 2 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Unity Cemetery, Latrobe.
