Carolyn M. Paola

Carolyn M. Paola, 87, of Latrobe, died Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2009, in Greensburg Care Center. She was born Nov. 17, 1921, in Blairsville, a daughter of the late Joe Beason and Virginia Beason Turk. She was a retired garment worker for Westland Manufacturing. Always a bright light to her friends and family, Carolyn will be sadly missed but fondly remembered. A part of her will continue to live through them. She was nurturing, loving and kind to all. She was particularly proud of her children as we are of her. The world is a sadder place without her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Skoloda, Virginia Falk, Ann Reed and Rose Gennaro; and brother, John Beason. She is survived by her son, Joseph Paola and his wife, Valerie, of Kensington, Calif.; a daughter, Lorraine Jacobs, of Latrobe; two grandsons, Justin Paola and his wife, Molly, and Matthew Jacobs and his wife, Roxanne; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Joseph Beason and his wife, Jean, of Derry; sister, Irene Lloyd, of Latrobe; as well as many loving nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at FREDERICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe. Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Martin Roman Catholic Church, Derry, with Father Stephen West as celebrant. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, New Derry.
