Catherine R. Abrams

Catherine R. (Humberger) Abrams, 77, of Latrobe, went to be with the Lord Sunday, Sept. 4, 2011. She was born Oct. 21, 1933, in Jeannette, daughter of the late Brady and Rose (Del Grippo) Humberger. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jack Colombin; and her second husband, Clyde Abrams; brothers, Charles and George Humberger; sister, Mary Ann Thomas; and nephews, George, Henry and Scotty. She is survived by her sons, Jack (Robin) Colombin, of Florida, and Jeffery Colombin, of Oklahoma; grandchildren, Jack Brady (Kristen), Phillip Colombin, of Oklahoma, and Sara Colombin, of Florida; great-grandchildren, Natalie and Jacqueline Kate, of Oklahoma; brothers, Harry, Henry (Shirley), Anthony, Joseph (Kazuko) and John; and sister, Rose Humberger. She is also survived by daughter-in-law, Becky (Jim) Hays, of Tulsa, Okla.; cousin, David Ferranti; and many nieces and nephews. She was retired from J.C. Penney, in Greensburg, and enjoyed lunches with her girlfriends; volunteering for Faith in Action, visiting shut-ins and exercising at Lynch Field. She was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 1325 Mission Road, Latrobe. Honoring Catherine's wishes, there will be no public visitation. A memorial service celebrating Catherine's life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 24, 2011, at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. The family would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Medi-Home Hospice for the wonderful care they provided. Arrangements were entrusted to FREDERICK FUNERAL HOME INC. Latrobe. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in memory of Catherine.
