Catherine M. "Kay" Shaw

Catherine M. "Kay" (Dunlap) Shaw, 83, of Latrobe (Unity Twp.), passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at home.  She was born May 9, 1940, in Latrobe, to the late Bovard E. and Catherine E. (Roble) Dunlap.  She was a retired pharmacy technician for Westmoreland Hospital and clerk for Abbey's Hallmark Shop.  Kay was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church and her real joy in life was taking care of her grandchildren.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Shaw Sr. in 2014.  Kay is survived by her four children Robert A. Shaw Jr. (Deborah), Marlene A. Wasnesky (Matthew), Deborah Rose, Beth Ann Hamerski (James); eleven grandchildren B.J. (Robyn), Christi (Tim), Megan (Chris), Kayla, Michael (Angela), Andrew, Chelsey, Carly (Dylan), Nicholas, Connor, Lex; nine great grandchildren; a sister, Shirley A. Citrone; several nieces, nephews and cousins.  Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2024, at the FREDERICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe, PA 15650. Additional visitation in the funeral home will be Saturday, March 2, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, with Pastor Bill Schaefer officiating.  Burial will be in Unity Cemetery, Latrobe.  The family wishes to send a special thank you to the nurses, aides, and staff of Senior Life Greensburg.  To purchase flowers or send condolences, please visit www.FrederickFuneralHome.com.
