Cathy Lynn Verwelst, 60, of Latrobe, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at Independence Health System - Latrobe Hospital. She was born January 17, 1964, in Ligonier, to Clarence Verwelst and the late Thressa (Carns) Verwelst. She had worked as a cook at Johnny L's in Greensburg for many years. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Lee Verwelst; a sister, Wanda Lautzenhizer; and a nephew, William Scott Nobel III. In addition to her father, Cathy is survived by a sister, Lesa Harkness and her husband Edward, and their children, Jessica Miranda, Amanda Jo Garza, and Corey Harkness; her brother Edward’s wife, Cheri Verwelst, and their children, Brian Verwelst and Megan Verwelst; and several great nieces and great nephews.
