Clarence Edward Pickels Jr., 73, of Latrobe, died Friday, April 22, 2016, at LifeCare Hospitals of Pittsburgh Suburban Campus, Pittsburgh. Born March 27, 1943, in Derry, he was a son of the late Clarence Edward Pickels Sr. and Louise (Gormley) Pickels. Clarence was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, No. 01188, Latrobe, and a Vietnam Era Veteran, having served with the Navy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carole A. (Shestick) Pickels, in 2014; and two brothers, John and Eugene Pickels. He is survived by two children, Kevin Pickels and his wife, Angelica, of Wexford, and Jennifer Pickels, of Pittsburgh; four grandchildren, Matthew, Elizabeth, Benjamin and Jackson; two sisters, Laura Pickels, of Derry, and Linda Harold and Ron, of Arizona. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at FREDERICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe, PA 15650. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2016, at Frederick Funeral Home Inc. Private burial will be in Unity Cemetery, Latrobe. Military honors will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home by the Latrobe-Derry Veterans Honor Guard.
