Claybon Wright, 85, of Latrobe, died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, in Westmoreland Manor, Greensburg. He was born Aug. 26, 1927, in Brownsville, a son of the late James Wright Sr. and Susie May Wright. He retired from Teledyne Vasco. A member of Second Baptist Church of Latrobe, where he was a trustee, he was also a member of the NAACP of Greensburg/Jeannette. He loved all sports. He played baseball and semi-pro football in the Atlantic Coast Football League. He also worked with special needs children. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Wright II; and two sisters, Edna May Wright and Robena Wright. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mary Lee (Sanders) Wright; a brother, Edgar Wright; three sisters, Evelyn Wright, Susie Mae Wright and Ann Taylor Gibson; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, in FREDERICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe, 15650. Additional viewing will be held from 10 until the time of service at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Second Baptist Church, 2610 Ligonier St., Latrobe, with Pastor Kenneth Irvin officiating. Burial in Unity Cemetery, Latrobe.
