Donald L. McAtee, 80, of Latrobe, died Sunday, Dec. 11, 2011, at UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh. He was born May 2, 1931, in Latrobe, a son of the late James L. McAtee and Mary Shields McAtee. He retired from Kennametal Inc. with 44 years of service. Donald was an Army veteran serving in the 179th Infantry Regiment during the Korean War. He was a member of St. Vincent Basilica Parish, BPOE Elks and American Legion. In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Maria Garbin McAtee in 1996. He is survived by two sons, James L. McAtee, of Fort Collins, Colo., and John G. McAtee and his wife, Linda B. McAtee, of Latrobe; a daughter, Erin Govi and her husband, Joseph 'Rich,' of Jeannette; and beloved grandchildren, Joseph M. Govi and Laura E. Govi. Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the FREDERICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe, PA 15650. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Vincent Basilica.
