Donald T. Pynos Sr., 70, of Latrobe, died Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012, in UPMC Shadyside. He was born July 23, 1942, in Latrobe, a son of the late Theodore Frank Pynos and Anna (Goodman) Pynos. He was a member of St. Rose Roman Catholic Church. He was a Navy veteran. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a steelworker by Latrobe Steel with 35 years of service. He also was a member of United Steelworkers Local 1537, Bohemian Citizens Beneficial Society and White House Club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carol A. (Hall) Pynos, in 1999. He is survived by three sons, Donald T. Pynos Jr. and his wife, Dawn M., of Latrobe, Todd A. Pynos and his wife, Lise M., of Latrobe, and Lincoln H. Pynos and his wife, Kelly, of Derry; a daughter, Jocelynne M. Pynos, of Latrobe; eight grandchildren, Logan A. Pynos, Ava Pynos, Lily Pynos, Izac Lewis, Cooper Pynos, Carson Pynos, Andy Panizzi and Maxwell Pynos; a sister, Dolores Russo and her husband, Charles, of Brooksville, Fla.; and a brother, Theodore J. Pynos and his wife, Patricia, of Blairsville; as well as several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the FREDERICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in the funeral home with Father William P. Donahue officiating. Burial will be in Unity Cemetery, Latrobe.
