Duane M. "Smitty" Smith

Duane M. "Smitty" Smith, 72, of New Alexandria died Sunday, June 23, 2013, in Loyalhanna Care Center, Derry Township. Born April 21, 1941, in Latrobe, he was the son of the late Paul and Evylyn (Hower) Smith. He was a retired self-employed laborer. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Walter Smith, Wendel Smith and Calvin Smith. Surviving are his girlfriend, Virginia Enos; two children, Diana Gibson of Arizona and Tracey Garris and her husband, Daniel, of Latrobe; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; seven brothers and sisters, Sandy Davis of Baggaley, Glenda Hodge of Cleveland, Albert Smith of Latrobe, Elbert Smith of Greensburg, Wayne Smith of New Alexandria, Clinton Smith of Georgia and Daryl Smith of Chicago, and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 26, 2013 from 10:00 AM until the time of his funeral service at 12:00 noon at the Frederick Funeral Home, Inc., 1543 Ligonier Street, Latrobe, PA 15650.
