Elizabeth Jane Calabrace

Elizabeth Jane (Merlin) Calabrace, 90, of Latrobe, died Friday, March 1, 2013, at home. Born March 15, 1922, in Bradenville, she was a daughter of the late Olimbio and Mary (Ross) Merlin. She was a retired cook for the Brew House in Latrobe. She was a member of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Patrick Calabrace; four brothers, John, Ollie, Julius and Wallace Merlin; two sisters, Roseanne Everet and Katherine Miller; and a son-in-law, Charles Gettins. She is survived by eight children, Samuel Patrick Calabrace Jr. (Jean), of Latrobe, Joseph David Calabrace (Tracy), of Adams, Tenn., Betty Lou Bravis (Mike), of Latrobe, Pauline Stefanov (Steve), of New Alexandria, Rosemary Gettins, of Latrobe, Katherine Goldberg, of Latrobe, Connie Maus (Jan), of Latrobe, and Michelle Ritenour (Gary), of Youngstown; 18 grandchildren, Mary Hall, Kim Stefanov, Steven Stefanov Jr., Michal Bravis, Brenda Nigh, Shelley Adams, William Adams, Chrissy Sichi, Samuel Calabrace, Anthony Calabrace, Justin Calabrace, Jennifer Myers, Melissa Wano, Michael Tepley Jr., Miles Ritenour, Elizabeth Ritenour, Don Gettins and Chuck Gettins; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 3, 2013, at FREDERICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe, PA 15650. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Monday, March 4, in Holy Family Roman Catholic Church with the Very Rev. Daniel C. Mahoney, VF, as celebrant.
