Ellen Marie Clair

Ellen Marie (Hough) Clair, 89, of Latrobe, passed away, Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2024, at Loyalhanna Care Center. She was born Aug. 21, 1935, in Latrobe, to the late Charles Maurice and Ellen Marie (Steiner) Hough. She was a homemaker and had her own ceramics shop (Clair's Ceramics) for several years where she enjoyed helping others create beautiful artwork. She also enjoyed singing and sang with several choirs. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert E. "Bert" Clair, an infant brother, Calvin Hough; a daughter-in-law, LuAnn; two sisters, Jeanine Simms and Nancy Cavallo; a brother, Charles Hough, and a brother-in-law, Donald Clair. Ellen is survived by five children, Calvin E. Clair, Denise Y. Ginder, Brenda A. Hixson and her husband Cyril, Mary Ann Rose and her husband Jeffery, and Jeffery A. Clair and his wife Marian; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2024, at the FREDERICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe, PA 15650. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, Dec 4, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home, with Pastor Tom Shrum officiating. Burial will follow in Unity Cemetery, Latrobe, PA.
