Esther M. (Bailey) Seranko

June 17, 1933 — July 12, 2016

Esther M. (Bailey) Seranko, 83, of Latrobe, died Tuesday, July 12, 2016, at Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital. She was born June 17, 1933, in Jenners Crossroads, a daughter of her late stepfather, Sylvester Gray, and late mother, Evelyn (Bailey) Gray. She was a dedicated member of St. Vincent Basilica Parish. Her passions included flower gardening, collecting antiques, her cats, baking her famous cookies and her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Arthur Bailey. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Robert J. Seranko; a son, Jeffrey R. Seranko and his wife, Barbara (Kemerer) Seranko; a granddaughter, Allie Seranko and her significant other, Cody C. Sumpter; a sister, Rosella Tripodi and her husband, Dr. Paul Tripodi; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Ziegenfus; several nieces and nephews; as well as her beloved cats, Oreo and Miss Prissy. Visitation from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 15, 2016, at FREDERICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe, PA 15650. A funeral Mass will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, July 16, 2016, at St. Vincent Basilica with Father Thomas P. Curry, OSB, as celebrant. Burial in St. Vincent Cemetery, Latrobe. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in her name to St. Vincent Basilica Parish, 300 Fraser Purchase Road, Latrobe, PA 15650.
