Flora B. "Flo" Fordyce, 69, of Latrobe, died Friday, Dec. 23, 2011, at home. Born Aug. 27, 1942, in Blairsville, she was a daughter of the late David and Kathryn Neuner Baker. She was a member of Latrobe United Methodist Church. A homemaker, she loved sewing, cooking and spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, David Baker; and a sister, Lola Annabelle Lukcik. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Don Fordyce; a son, Donald J. Fordyce and his wife, Tammy, of Southwest; a daughter, Barbara A. Alexander, of Latrobe; three grandchildren, Jason Fordyce and his wife, Ashleigh, of Mt. Pleasant, Jessica Fordyce, of Southwest, and Luke Alexander, of Latrobe; three siblings, Myrtle McLaughlin, Philip Baker and his wife, Mary, and Jane Curnow and her husband, Frank; a brother-in-law, Ronald Fordyce and his wife, Louisa; a sister-in-law, Betty Fordyce and her husband, Ronald; and a brother-in-law, Jim Cox and his wife, Janet. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the FREDERICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with the Rev. David J. Henderson officiating. Burial will be in Unity Cemetery, Latrobe. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made in Flora's name to Latrobe United Methodist Church. The family would like to send special thanks to all of the nurses, doctors and staff at the Arnold Palmer Cancer Center, Latrobe Cardiology, UPMC Shadyside and Excela Health Latrobe for all of the care through the years.
