Frances A. Hunter Ryder, 86, of Spotsylvania, Va., passed away Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2010, in Mary Washington Hospital in Virginia. Born July 26, 1924, in Latrobe, she was a daughter of the late Willard Gilbert Hunter and Mary Elizabeth O'Patka Hunter. Frances was a homemaker and a member of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. Ryder, in 1998 and three brothers and sisters, William Hunter, Carol Thorpe and Joyce Hunter. She is survived by two daughters, Linda Naeger and her husband, Frank, and Mary Karen Moore and her husband, Brian; two grandchildren, Kerry Arvelo and her husband, Daniel, and Michael Moore and his wife, Heather; four great-grandchildren Joseph Arvelo, Alessandra Arvelo, Cameron Moore and Justice Moore; two stepgreat-grandchildren, David Arvelo and Sarah Arvelo; six brothers and sisters, Thomas Hunter and his wife, Tootie, Lillian Martin and her husband, Robert, Delores Hunter, Raymond Hunter, Janet Banocy and her husband, Robert, and Lorraine Crouse and her husband, Jerry; a brother-in-law, Joe Thorpe; several nieces and nephews, and two great-great-dogs, Chi and Theta. Visitation will be 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19, in Frederick Funeral Home Inc., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, in Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Latrobe. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Unity Township.
