Frank Lee Naeger, 69, of Spotsylvania passed away Saturday, October 26, 2013 at his home after his long battle with cancer. He was a son of the late George and Ethel Shirey Naeger. Frank was born in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. There he attended Latrobe High School. He then worked for the Skatell family in Latrobe for 40 years. Then Frank moved to Virginia to be with his grandchildren. He then worked eight years for Spotsylvania County Public Schools as a custodian at Brock Road and Wilderness Elementary. Frank is survived by his wife of 45 years, Linda Ann Ryder Naeger; a daughter, Kerry Naeger Arvelo and husband, Daniel John; two grandchildren, Joseph John and Alessandra Maria Arvelo; and two step-grandchildren, David Anthony and Sarah Christina Arvelo. Survivers also include his five sisters; Mary Pasztor and husband, John; Joanna Milko and husband, James; Dorothy Henry; Lois Doak; and Patricia Shaffer; two brothers; Regis Naeger and wife, Jackie and Joseph Naeger and wife, Jean; three sisters-in-law; Rose Naeger, Phillis Barger, and Mary Ryder Moore and husband, Brian; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his brother, George Naeger and step-brother, Robert Barger. A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 P.M, on Wednesday, October 30, at Johnson Funeral Home, Locust Grove, VA.. A second visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Friday, November 1, at Frederick Funeral Home, Inc., 1543 Ligonier Street, Latrobe, PA 15650. A memorial mass will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 2 at St. Vincent Basilica Parish, Latrobe, PA., with burial to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Latrobe, PA.. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mary Washington Hospice, 2300 Fall Hill Avenue, Fredericksburg, VA 22401.
