George H. Graham, 89, of Ligonier, formerly of Blairsville, died Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2009, in Excela Health Latrobe Hospital. Born Jan. 29, 1920, in Pittsburgh, he was a son of the late George R. and Katherine (Gillespie) Graham. He retired from Westinghouse, where he worked as a quality control inspector. Mr. Graham was a member of Heritage United Methodist Church, of Ligonier, where he was a church elder. He was a World War II veteran, having served in the Navy, and was a member of the VFW and American Legion. He also was a member of the Myrtle Beach Barbershop Chorus. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters. He is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Colleen (Sefing) Graham; a daughter, Joyce Graham, of Latrobe; a son, Russell and his wife, Lynne, of Manassas, Va.; four grandchildren, Brian and his wife Faith, Meghan, Blair and Collin; a great-granddaughter, Jordan; and many nieces and nephews. There will be no public visitation. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, in Heritage United Methodist Church, Ligonier, with the Rev. John E. Flower Jr. officiating. Burial will be private. Military honors will be rendered at the conclusion of the service by the Navy Funeral Honors Detail. A luncheon will be held following the service at the church.
