Harold J. Shoemaker

Harold J. (Buzz) Shoemaker, 72, of Latrobe PA passed away February 17, 2010 at his home. Buzz was an Army veteran and retired in 1998 from Latrobe Steel with 37 years of service. Buzz was an avid golfer and member of Cooperstown Club and the American Legion. He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Shoemaker and brother Albert. He is survived by his mother, Grace Shoemaker of Derry, his loving wife of 47 years, MaryAnn Shoemaker of Latrobe, and his mother-in-law Hazel Giesey of Ligonier . He is also survived by his 4 children, Scott Shoemaker of Latrobe and wife Kim of North Carolina, Robin Bittner and husband Duane of Manhattan, KS, Jill Marinchek and husband Regis of Delmont, and Jim Shoemaker and wife Tia of Raleigh, NC. Survived also by 8 grandchildren, Alex, Matt and Megan Shoemaker, Alesia, Josh and Duane Bittner, Christopher and Zackary Marinchek and great-grandson Derrick Bittner. Also surviving are sisters, Carol Ruffner of Latrobe and Faye Herrod of Derry; brothers, Roy Shoemaker and wife Joanne, Charles Shoemaker and Ken Shoemaker and wife MaryLou, all of Latrobe, along with many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon to 4:00 PM Saturday, February 20, 2010 at the Frederick Funeral Home, Inc. 1543 Ligonier Street, Latrobe, PA 15650. A service will follow in the funeral home at 4:00 PM. Interment will be private.
