Helen Louise Kovalcik

Helen Louise (Gilligan) Kovalcik, 80, of Derry, passed away Monday, November 27, 2023, at St. Andrew's Village, Indiana.  She was born December 11, 1942, in Latrobe, to the late Robert and Toressa (McDonald) Gilligan.  She was a retired Registered Nurse, having worked for Frick Hospital and later at St. Andrew's Village.  She was a member of Church of the Good Shepherd Parish, Kent, PA.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence R. Kovalcik Sr.; a granddaughter, Caressa Kovalcik and two great granddaughters; Aubriana Kovalcik and Maggie Kovalcik; and a brother, William Gilligan.  Helen is survived by three children, Clarence R. Kovalcik Jr., Robert J. Kovalcik and his wife, Anne, and Christina Kovalcik; seven grandchildren; Marc, Autumn, Billy, Joshua, Kayla, Nicole, A.J.; fifteen great grandchildren, Ralphy, Denver, Bentley, Cooper, Brayden, Parker, Mason, Emmit, Ryder, Zavier, Emerson, Lilou, Makayla, Paul, Jaxson; a sister, Patricia Ferguson; as well as several nieces and nephews.  Family and friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, 2023, at the FREDERICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe, PA 15650.  A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Fri., Dec. 1, 2023, at Church of the Good Shepherd Parish, 100 Good Shepherd Drive, Kent, PA 15752.  Everyone is asked to go directly to the church.  Interment will follow at Armagh Cemetery, Armagh, PA.   To send flowers or condolences, please visit www.FrederickFuneralHome.com.
