Helen A. Ridilla

Helen A. Ridilla, 84, of Latrobe, died Monday, Oct. 27, 2008, at Excela Health Latrobe Hospital. She was born Feb. 9, 1924, in Scottdale, daughter of the late John and Catherine Gacz Huysak Wasileski. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church and First Catholic Slovak Union. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Michael J. Ridilla, in 1990; two brothers, Stanley Huysak and John Huysak; a sister, Dorothy Skoff; and a grandson, Ryan Homer. She is survived by a son, Lawrence Michael Ridilla, of Loyalhanna; four daughters, Michaelene "Micki" Smolleck and her husband, Mark, of Lawson Heights, Karen Gross and her husband, Tom, of Ligonier, Janet Ridilla, of Buford, Ga., and Tami Briggs, of Lawson Heights; nine grandchildren, Kelly, Scott, Brett, Kristi, Corey, Heather, Todd, Danielle and Courtney; six great-children; a brother, Casey Wasileski; and three sisters, Stella Kuba, Josephine Skoff and her husband, Ed, and Louise Wasileski, all of Latrobe. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at FREDERICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe, PA 15650. Parastas service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Panachida service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home, followed by Divine Liturgy at 11 a.m. in St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church, Bradenville.
