Henry P. Jacobina, 95, of Latrobe passed away Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013, at Barnes House, Latrobe (Derry Township). Born Dec. 29, 1917, in Latrobe, he was a son of the late Frank and Giocanna Jacobina. Prior to his retirement, he was the owner of Henry's Shoes in Latrobe. He was a member of St. Vincent Basilica Parish, Unity Township. Henry was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four siblings, Mary Zenone, Margaret Pinkerton, Elda Jacobina and Albert Jacobina. He is survived by his wife, Anna M. Boyle Jacobina; three children, Jacqueline Walter and her husband, Lawrence, Michele Jacobina and Dr. Charles Jacobina and his wife, Patricia; two grandchildren, Jason Ridilla and Logan Jacobina, and two siblings, Joanne Stroup and Charles Jacobina. There will be no public visitation. A memorial Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 15, in St. Vincent Basilica, Unity Township. Burial will be in Unity Cemetery, Unity Township. Memorial contributions can be made to GLSD Art Conservation Trust Endowment Fund, which preserves the unique art collection at Greater Latrobe Senior High School.
