Irene Verchuck, 85, of Greensburg, died Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010, in Loyalhanna Care Center, Latrobe. Born July 28, 1924, in Sudith, Ky., she was a daughter of the late Frank and Suzzie (Kecskemetic) Chabino. She was a retired factory worker for Toyad. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry P. Verchuck, in November 2009; an infant daughter, Bernadette; a sister, Margaret; two brothers, Joseph and Frank Chabino; two sisters-in-law, Martha Vitayne and Tillie Chabino; two brothers-in-law, Joseph Malletz and Ed Gabor; and two nephews, Buddy and Joey Malletz. She is survived by three sisters, Julianna Filep, of Virginia, Helen Malletz, of Latrobe, and Emma Gabor, of Ohio; a brother, David Vitayne, of Ohio; and a sister-in-law, Mary Malletz; as well as several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the FREDERICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe. A funeral Liturgy will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with Father John-Mary Tompkins, OSB, officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Hill Cemetery, Crabtree.
