Jay E. Miscovich, 54, of Latrobe and Key West, Fla., died Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013. Born April 14, 1959, in Latrobe, Jay was a son of John E. Miscovich and Evelynn J. Miscovich. Jay is survived by brothers, Greg Miscovich and Scott Miscovich; many cousins; and nieces and nephews. As a teen, Jay earned the Rank of Eagle Scout. He attended the Boy Scout World Jamboree thereafter and had great life experiences. Many family members and friends feel that his early Boy Scout travels helped to build his passion for travel. Jay was a lifetime member of Latrobe Volunteer Fire Department, with active service in Latrobe for more than 25 years. Jay was partners in many treasure ventures during his life. He was a social member of the Latrobe VFW and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles of Latrobe, where he had many friends. Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at FREDERICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe, PA 15650. The Fraternal Order of the Eagles will conduct a farewell service at 7 p.m. Friday, in the funeral home. A Latrobe Volunteer Fire Department memorial service will follow at 7:30 p.m. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, in Holy Family Roman Catholic Church. Everyone please go directly to the church. Burial in Unity Cemetery will be private. Multiple myeloma, bone marrow cancer, is the type of incurable cancer that Jay's brother, Greg, has. The International Myeloma Foundation is the group committed to curing Bone Marrow Cancer, a wonderful organization headquartered in California, with which celebrity, Ray Romano is very involved.
