John A. Kopetsky Sr. - "Crusher John"

John A. Kopetsky Sr. - "Crusher John", 88, of Latrobe, passed away Friday, Feb. 18, 2022, at home.  He was born Dec. 20, 1933, in Crabtree, to the late Tony and Sophia (Lyncoski) Kopetsky.  He was a retired Laborer for Latrobe Construction Company and was a member of Labors Union Local No. 1058.  He was Catholic by faith and served his country in the U.S. Army serving in the Greman Wall in Rotz, Germany.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.  He is survived by his wife of 60 years Margaret L. (Sullenberger) Kopetsky; two children John Kopetsky Jr. of Loyalhanna and Renee Koring (Bob) of Norvelt; four grandsons Duane Kopetsky, Wade Kopetsky (Sasha), Patrick Koring  (Lindsey), and Clayton Koring (Jessica); three great grandsons Gannon, Weston, and Rowan Koring; and two furbabies Lucy and Chi-Chi.  Family and friends will be received Monday, Feb. 21, 2022, from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the Frederick Funeral Home Inc., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe, PA 15650, where a Funeral Liturgy will take place Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2022, at 11:00 AM.  Interment will follow at Unity Cemetery, Latrobe, PA.  Military honors will be rendered by the Armbrust Veteran’s at graveside.  To purchase flowers or send condolences please visit www.FrederickFuneralHome.com.
