Lloyd J. "Jim" McCabe, 56, of Bradenville, died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2010, at UPMC Presbyterian University Hospital. He was born May 11, 1953, in Latrobe, a son of Katherine Fink Laughrey and the late Lloyd S. McCabe. He was a Marine Corp veteran and retired coal miner with UMWA, District 2, 1257 for R&P Coal/Florence Mining. Lloyd was a member of First United Methodist Church, Bradenville, a life member of the Kingston Veteran's and Sportsmen's Club, Goldwing Road Riders Association, Chapter E., and he was also the caretaker of the Bradenville Cemetery for the last eight years. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of more than 26 years, Nashalla "Nash" Eberhart McCabe; beloved mother-in-law and father-in law, Nashalla and Bob Eberhart; a son, Daniel McCabe; and a daughter, Melena McCabe, both of Alabama; one brother and four sisters; three grandchildren, Danielle McCabe, Melena McCabe and Ronald McCabe; three brothers-in-law, Jody L. Eberhart, Oran L. Eberhart and his wife, Jill, and George Eberhart and his wife, Lou; a sister-in-law, Roberta Jones and her husband, Robert; two nephews, Tyler and Jordan Eberhart; three nieces, Lacie Riffle and Katrina McCabe and Misty Dusel; four great-nieces; and his Shelties, Crystal and Chipper, who were his daily companions. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the FREDERICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe, PA 15650, where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday. Interment will follow in Unity Cemetery, Unity Township. Military honors will be rendered at graveside by Marine Corps representatives. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home.
