Margaret J. "Peggy" Simms, 81, of Latrobe, received her heart's desire and went home to be with Jesus on Thursday, Oct. 16, 2014, after a brief illness. She was born April 24, 1933, in Salem Township, a daughter of the late Pasquale "Patsy" Japalucci and Mary Jane Osborne Japalucci. She was a homemaker and a member of Word of Life Church, Greensburg. Peggy was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, granny, great-granny and friend. She was very kind and very generous. Peggy loved reading the Word, spending time with family and friends and cooking. She was involved in a special prayer group over the years and Women's Aglow Fellowship. Her greatest love and desire was to serve the Lord which she did with zeal. She was a true prayer warrior. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia "Trish" Schiefer; son, David A. Simms; grandson, Mark D. Fink; four brothers, Charles O., Robert E., George J. and Samuel P. Japalucci; and two sisters, Elma Robson and Elizabeth C. "Betty" Japalucci. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Paul Simms; a daughter, Kathleen "Vonnie" (Simms) Fink and her husband, Lloyd, of Greensburg; son, Paul L. Simms Jr. and his wife, Mary (Lampe), of Ligonier; grandchildren, Michael L. Fink and his wife, Heather, Candace Simms, Joseph A. Lampe and his wife, Jenny, and Tanya (Lampe) Morrison; great-grandchildren, Samantha Fink, Andrew Fink, Matthew Fink and Luke Morrison; a brother, Daniel F. Japalucci and his wife, Phyllis, of Roseville, Mich.; and numerous nieces and nephews and many dear friends. Visitation from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 20, 2014, at Frederick Funeral Home Inc., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe, PA 15650. A funeral serivce will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2014, in the funeral home with Pastor Sheldon Moore officiating. Burial in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.
