Marie V. (Ferrazzetta) Smith, 95, of Latrobe, died Friday, Sept. 27, 2013, in Mountainview Specialty Care Center, Greensburg. Born Sept. 16, 1918, in South Fayette, she was a daughter of the late Sante and Eleanor Ferrazzetta. She was a member of St. Vincent Basilica Parish, St. Vincent Rosary Society, Catholic Daughters, 8/40 Past National Chapeau and past state president of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was a volunteer at St. Vincent de Paul and a 50-year volunteer for Latrobe Hospital. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles D. Smith, on April 13, 1965; a daughter, Barbara M. Kosker; and three siblings, Hazel, Theresa and Joseph. She is survived by a son, David Smith and his companion, Nancy Buchanan; three grandchildren, Joe Kosker and his wife, Colleen, Donald Kosker and his wife, Michelle, and Michael Dickinson and his wife, Sharon; numerous great-grandchildren; a goddaughter, Marie Nichols; two nephews, Jack and Donald Harvan; and a companion, Clarence Omler. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 30, 2013, at FREDERICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, in St. Vincent Basilica Parish. Burial will be in St. Vincent Cemetery, Latrobe. The St. Vincent Rosary Altar Society will recite the rosary at 2 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
