Mary Ann Gentile

Mary Ann (Quaranto) Gentile, 89, of Greensburg, died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2015, at home. She was born Nov. 9, 1925, in Derry Township, a daughter of the late Felix Quaranto and Anna (Hershbine) Quaranto. She was retired from Latrobe Hospital, having worked as a registered nurse. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Latrobe. She was a graduate of the Latrobe Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1946. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Paul J. Gentile, in 2000; and a brother, James Quaranto. She is survived by her daughter, Pamila Gentile, of Greensburg; a sister, Carolyn Berkey and her husband, James, of Latrobe; as well as several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 16, 2015, at FREDERICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe, PA 15650, 724-537-7766, with Trinity Pastors officiating. Private burial will follow at Unity Cemetery, Latrobe. The family extends their sincere appreciation to Medi Home Hospice, Medi Home Health and all her caregivers.
