Michael Joseph Katana, Sr

Michael Joseph Katana Sr., 55, of Centennial, Colo., died Friday, Jan. 14, 2011, at home. He was born Feb. 24, 1955, in Latrobe, son of the late Theodore and Florence (Hudec) Katana. He graduated from Greater Latrobe High School, class of 1973. He is survived by five children, Christie Collins and her husband, Jason, of Waldorf, Md., Jill Wilson and her husband, Adam, of Pittsburgh, Michael Katana Jr., of Denver, Colo., Sergeant Casey Katana, of Englewood, Colo., and Delani Katana, of Denver, Colo.; a granddaughter, Colbi Wilson, of Pittsburgh; two brothers, Theodore Katana and his wife, Katya, of Virginia Beach, Va.; Robert Katana and his wife, Sharon, of High Point, N.C.; two sisters, Nancy Siko and her husband, John, of Export, and Donna Simmons, of Delray Beach, Fla.; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. A memorial visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at FREDERICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe. A funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church with the Very Rev. Daniel C. Mahoney, VF, as celebrant. EVERYONE IS ASKED TO GO DIRECTLY TO THE CHURCH.
