Miles E. Ritenour, 80, of Bradenville, died Saturday, May 8, 2010, at Excela Health Latrobe Hospital. He was born Jan. 5, 1930, in Latrobe, a son of the late Harvey Ritenour Sr. and Freida Peiffer Ritenour. He was a retired crane operator for Timken Latrobe Steel Company. He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Latrobe, Pipetown American Legion Post 982, Pleasant Unity Veterans of Foreign Wars, Kingston, Veterans and Sportsmens Club and the Youngstown Firemens Club. He was an Army veteran, serving in Korea. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Alice L. (Barr) Ritenour, in 2008. He is survived by his daughter, Sherry Palmer and her husband, Richard, of Bradenville; a granddaughter, Andrah Alice Palmer; four brothers, Harvey Ritenour Jr. and his wife, Dolores, Earl Ritenour, Elmer Ritenour and his wife, Margie, and Duane Ritenour, all of Latrobe; three sisters, Louise Perino and her husband, Charles, Arlene Carnahan and her husband, Dale, both of Latrobe, and Dolores Rause and her husband, Richard, of Bradenville; as well as several nieces and nephews. Visitation from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at FREDERICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe, PA 15650. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Rev. Jeffrey Schock officiating. Burial in Unity Cemetery, Latrobe. The combined funeral detail of local American Legion and VFW members will provide military honors at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
