Pamela A. Gentile, 71, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2018, at the Greensburg Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Greensburg. Pam was born Nov. 3, 1947, in Latrobe, the daughter of the late Paul and Mary Ann (Quaranto) Gentile. She is survived by (aunt) Carolyn and Jim Berkey. Pam was a graduate of Latrobe High School class of 1965. Pam received her undergraduate degree in education from California State College and later went on to receive her master's degree in counseling from Penn State University. Prior to her retirement, she was an employee of Southwest Pennsylvania Behavioral Health as a drug and alcohol counselor. In addition, she worked weekends for Passavant Memorial Homes, helping to provide independent living skills for individuals with special needs. Pam was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed attending and watching Steelers and Penguins games with her good friends Marcia and Cyndi. Her family extends their thanks to the staff of RNC and Bridges Hospice for their care, kindness and friendship to Pam during her extended stay. Pam was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church. There will be no public visitation. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, 2018, at St. John the Evangelist Church, Latrobe, with the Rev. Anthony Carbone as celebrant. A private interment will follow at Unity Cemetery. FREDERICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe, is in charge of arrangements.
