Rebecca Ann (Murray) Magdic, 66, of Latrobe, formerly of Ligonier, passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at home. She was born Sept. 12, 1955, in McKeesport. A graduate of McKeesport High School, she took business courses, which prepared her for a life in the restaurant, ice cream (Dairy Queen), and bar businesses with her first and third husbands. She also worked as the housekeeper of a priest, Father Tom, in Shadyside, for several years after her work in business. She left Pittsburgh to live in the quiet, peaceful town of Ligonier, then moved to Latrobe, where she resided until her passing. Rebecca was a Byzantine Catholic from birth but attended and was a member of Holy Family Church in Latrobe.Rebecca enjoyed crocheting and had a flair for fashion and decorating. She was predeceased by a son, Christopher Magdic, and is survived by a son, Scott Magdic and grandson, Mitchell, of Pittsburgh, and one brother, Herb Murray (Holly), of Sewickley. She also leaves behind a loving aunt, Theresa Surgeon, of Ohio, and beloved friends, Denise Noble, of Latrobe, and Elizabeth Campbell-Bellantoni, of Palm Coast, Fla. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 23, 2022, in Holy Family Church. Private burial will be in Round Hill Cemetery in Elizabeth.
