Ronald W. Navarre, 42, of Irwin, died Thursday, Jan. 15, 2009, in UPMC Shadyside. He was born Sept. 9, 1966, in Pittsburgh, a son of Wilson R. Navarre, of Chicago, Ill., and the late Carol Elizabeth Douglass Navarre. He was a member of Latrobe United Methodist Church. He served in the Army National Guard during the First Persian Gulf War. In addition to his father, he is survived by a brother, Jim Navarre and his wife, Heather, of Latrobe; a sister, Sue Nace and her husband, Scott, of Irwin; and five nieces and nephews, Todd Navarre, Henry Navarre, Lauren Nace, Anna Navarre and Grace Navarre; and an uncle Joe Navarre of KY. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the FREDERICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe. The combined funeral detail of American Legion Post 515 and VFW Post 3414 will provide military honors at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Unity Cemetery, Unity Township.
