Ronald H. Reeping, Sr. 79, of Latrobe passed away peacefully Thursday, April 25, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 1, 1933, in Latrobe, son of the late Henry and Loretta (Malloy) Reeping, III. Prior to his retirement he was employed at Westinghouse in Derry. He was a member of St. Vincent Basilica in Latrobe. He served in the Korean War as a Sergeant with the 113th Airborne Division as a paratrooper. He was a man who enjoyed the simple things of life; family, friends, and the great outdoors. He was also a man of few words but made an impression on everyone who met him. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary (Severs) Reeping. He is survived by three children, Ronald Reeping and his wife Jennifer, Kim Olean and husband Tyce, Carol Stannard and husband Mike; several grandchildren, Tyce and Mathew Olean, Jessica DiCanio, Kelly Stannard and Lyndsay Burrik; a great-grandchild Juliette DiCanio; many nieces and nephews; and his siblings, Nancy Pochatko and Robert Reeping. Ronald's family and friends will gather together, Wednesday, May 1, 2013, from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM at the Frederick Funeral Home Inc., 1543 Ligonier Street, Latrobe, PA 15650. The combined funeral detail of local American Legion and VFW members will provide military honors at 9:30 AM in the funeral home. A memorial funeral liturgy will follow at 10:00 AM in the funeral home. Private burial will follow at Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Greensburg, PA. The family wishes to send a special thank you to Redstone Highlands of Greensburg and Heartland Hospice for making his final days comfortable.
