Sara S. (Seabury) Carns

Sara S. (Seabury) Carns, 87, of Latrobe (Derry Township), died Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Excela Health Latrobe. She was born Dec. 25, 1929, to Charles E. Seabury and Emma (Slezak) Seabury. She was a member of Latrobe United Methodist Church. Sara graduated from Seton Hill College in 1951 and worked at Kennametal as an analytical chemist until her marriage. She enjoyed reading, traveling and baseball. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Byron E. Carns, in 1997; her brother, Charles, and his wife, Norma; her sister, Nancy Freeman; and her sister-in-law, Mary Ella Carns. She is survived by a daughter, Beth C. Dell, her husband Richard, and a beloved grandson, Richard James, all of Bridgeville; in-laws Edwin Carns, Lois and Carl Anderson and Roger Freeman; as well as nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 1, 2017, at FREDERICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe, PA 15650. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 2, 2017, at Latrobe United Methodist Church with Pastor Chris Morris officiating. Everyone is asked to go directly to the church.
