Sara K. Frowen

Sara K. "Sadie" Frowen, 68, of Latrobe, died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2009, in Excela Health Latrobe Hospital. She was born Feb. 19, 1940, in Spring Run, a daughter of George L. Kling and Helen E. Kaufman Kling. She was a retired teacher from Derry Area School District. She was a member of Latrobe United Methodist Church, Derry Area Retired Educators; and spent many hours voluntering for the Arnold Palmer Cancer Center, the Westmoreland Co. food bank, Special Olympics, as well as her church. She is survived by her husband, Harry J. "Jack" Frowen; three children Shawn Elizabeth Frowen, of Penn Hills, Scott Thomas Frowen, of Wexford, and Shannon Toby Frowen, of Philadelphia; four sisters, Berry Campbell (Glenn), of Doyalsburg, Shirley Morton (Paul), of Spring Run, Jane Clayton, of Amberson, Georgia Himes (Russel) Hagerstown, Md.; as well as several nieces and nephews. There will be no public visitation. There will be a memorial service held at 1 PM Saturday at Latrobe United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Henderson. Burial will be private.
