Shirley A. (Atcheson) Semanchek

Shirley A. Semanchek, 77, of Greensburg, passed away Thursday, July 14, 2016, in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital. She was born May 3, 1939, in Jeannette, to the late William George and Anna (Kovacs) Atcheson. She was a retired respiratory therapist for Westmoreland Hospital. She enjoyed bowling with several leagues. She loved gardening and sports, and was an avid black and gold fan, especially the Steelers, Pirates and Penguins. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Ann Atcheson Fluck. She is survived by three sons, John Semanchek Jr., Gary Alan Semanchek and Jeffrey J. Semanchek; and s sister, Jane Atcheson Downy; and two granddaughters, Lauren Semanchek and Grace Semanchek. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 17, 2016, at the FREDERICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe, PA 15650. A funeral liturgy will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 18, 2016 in the funeral home. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Jeannette.
