Steven L. Pallow, 60, of Latrobe, died Sunday, June 3, 2012, at home. Born July 3, 1951, in Latrobe, he was a son of the late John S. and Josephine L. (Zavada) Pallow. He was a retired state park ranger, and had also previously worked at the former Volkswagen New Stanton plant. He was a member of the Latrobe United Methodist Church. He was a Vietnam War veteran, having served in the Navy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John David Pallow. He is survived by his wife, Colleen C. (McSweeny) Pallow; daughter, Christina Defino, of Murrysville; son, Michael J. Defino and his wife, Robin, of Youngwood; stepdaughter, Jennifer Jankovik; granddaughter, Olivia Paige Defino; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Georgeanne McSweeny, of Penn Hills; sister-in-law, Sandra Dimatteo and her husband, Joseph, of Penn Hills; brother-in-law, James McSweeny and his wife, Doreen, of Fombell; several nieces; two great-nephews; as well as several friends, whom he loved. The family will receive friends from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Friday at the FREDERICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe, PA 15650, where a memorial service will begin at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Paul Wise officiating. The combined funeral detail of local American Legion and VFW members will provide military honors at 9:30 a.m. Friday in the funeral home.
