Theodore M. Smith

Theodore M. Smith, 71, of Latrobe passed away Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010, at his home. Born July 15, 1939, in Woodville, Ohio, he was the son of the late Marvin L. and Mildred R. (Bolfa) Smith. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Theodore retired in 1999 as the treasurer of Newcomer Products Inc., Derry Township. He was a graduate of the University of Toledo and Bowling Green University. He was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church and the Latrobe Area Chamber of Commerce, and he had completed the Latrobe Area Leadership Class. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Jillian I. Hurn Smith, who was from Norfolk, England, in 1998 and his sister, Judith K. Smith. He is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen Stein Smith; three children, Craig S. Smith and his wife, Maryann, of Latrobe, Julie E. Smith and her husband, Michael T. Schulte, of Naperville, Ill., and Christopher L. Smith of Latrobe; two grandchildren, Jillian and Mackenzie Schulte; three stepchildren, Christine Solomon and her husband, Kevin, Patricia Elias and her husband, Robert, and John Stein Sr. and his wife, Cindy, all of Latrobe, and five stepgrandchildren, Amanda and Lauren Solomon, and John Jr., Emily and Miranda Stein. Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 26, in Frederick Funeral Home Inc., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe. A memorial Mass will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, in St. Rose Catholic Church, Route 982, with the Rev. William P. Donahue, pastor, as celebrant. EVERYONE IS ASKED TO GO DIRECTLY TO THE CHURCH. Burial will be in Unity Cemetery, Unity Township. The combined funeral detail of local American Legion and VFW members will provide military honors at 7:00 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
