Thomas D. Sofranko

Thomas D. Sofranko of Latrobe, formerly of Hostetter, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2007, in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg, surrounded by family and friends. Tom was born Feb. 9, 1949, in Latrobe. He worked at the J.C. Penney Department Store in Westmoreland Mall. A Catholic by faith, he attended Holy Family Church in Latrobe. He also was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen J. Shofranko who passed away in 1987 and Ann Lucas Sofranko who passed away in 1990. He is survived by his brother, Steve Sofranko and his wife, Joanne, of Derry; his sister, Rose Ann Sofranko Faris and her husband, James, of Scottdale, and several nieces and nephews. Tom also will be sadly missed by very special friends, Bob and Bobbie Pescatore of Latrobe and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Moran of Pittsburgh. There will be no public viewing. Interment will be private.
