Viola M. (Falbo) Sulkey, of Allentown, formerly of Latrobe, died Wednesday, March 15, 2017, in Above and Beyond Personal Care Home, Allentown. Born March 24, 1924, in Latrobe, she was a daughter of the late Theodore Falbo and Susan (Johnson) Falbo. Following her graduation from Latrobe High School, she worked at Vulcan Mold. She retired from the Unity Township Tax Office, where she worked as an office manager. She was a member of St. Vincent Basilica Parish and the St. Vincent Rosary Altar Society. She acted in many plays and musicals at the St. Vincent College and volunteered in the St. Vincent Gift Shop and Gristmill. She and her husband, Bert, spent many years as bakers of the then well-known St. Vincent bread. She also served as a poll worker during numerous elections. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert J. "Bert" Sulkey, in 2014; two sisters, Sara and Evelyn; a brother, Gene; and a daughter-in-law, Jean Sulkey. She is survived by two children, Craig Sulkey, of New Jersey, and Monica Hayes and her husband, Doug, of Puerto Rico; a sister-in-law, Mary Huchette; and her husband, Paul; a granddaughter, Erin Triano and her husband, Todd; two great-grandchildren, Ava and Ben; as well as several nieces and nephews and great and great-great-nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 17, 2017, at FREDERICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe, PA 15650. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 18, 2017, at St. Vincent Basilica. Burial will be in St. Vincent Cemetery, Latrobe.
