William “Bill” Lipinski, 79, of Latrobe passed away Saturday, June 9, 2018, in Select Specialty Hospital - Laurel Highlands. Born June 28, 1938, in Latrobe, he was a son of the late William G. and Malinda Jane (Cable) Lipinski. Bill retired with 38 years service as a grinder for Latrobe Steel. He was a member of Derry Area Historical Society; a former school director for Derry Area School District, and the Democratic Committee man in the Saxman precinct for many years. He served in the U.S. Army Reserve. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a foster brother, Maurice Ruffner, and three sisters, Jane Waldron, Esther B. Lipinski and Mary A. Heacox. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Ann Shepler Lipinski; stepdaughter, Cheryl (Spicher) Bauer and her husband, Charles H. Bauer Jr.; stepson, Timothy M. Spicher; step-grandson, Charles H. Bauer III; three sisters, Frances A. Titus, Martha L. Fetter and her husband, Gerald Fetter, Wilma M. Hovance and her husband, John Hovance Jr.; four brothers, Joseph, Thomas, James and George Lipinski; numerous nieces and nephews, and special friends, Thomas and Denise Deichert. According to Bill’s wishes, there will be no public visitation. A private graveside service was held at Unity Cemetery, Unity Township. Frederick Funeral Home Inc., Latrobe, assisted the family.
